Acceptance of these terms
By using yilmazeducation.com or the Literacy Assessments platform, you agree to these Terms. If you use the platform under an agreement between Yilmaz Education LLC and your school or district, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
The service
Literacy Assessments is an early literacy assessment platform for educators. Assessments are currently available for 4K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1, with grades 2–3 in active development; features include skill-level assessment, small-group tools, and progress reporting. The public demo environment contains synthetic data only. The service supports educator workflows and does not replace any assessment or screening a district is required by law to administer.
Accounts & eligibility
Accounts are for educators and school staff aged 18 or older. You agree to provide accurate information, use your school or professional email where applicable, and keep your credentials confidential. Students do not create accounts. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Subscriptions, trials & payment
New individual accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full features; no credit card is required. The Individual Teacher Seat License (1-Year) is $69 per year at our founder rate and includes up to 2 classes, unlimited students, all literacy assessments, small-group tools, and progress reports. Payment is processed by Stripe; subscriptions renew yearly and can be canceled anytime, effective at the end of the paid term. When a trial or subscription ends, the account becomes read-only and your data is retained as described in the Privacy Policy — you can renew later without losing work. District and school licensing is offered under separate written agreements.
Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful educational purposes. Do not attempt to access data you are not authorized to see, probe or circumvent security controls, scrape the service, resell access, share accounts, or enter student information beyond the fields the service requests. We may suspend accounts that put student data or the service at risk.
Student data & privacy
Our Privacy Policy — and, for district deployments, the Data Processing Agreement — governs student data. In short: we collect the minimum (names, grade, class, scores), we never sell student data, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI models.
Intellectual property
The platform, including its assessments, software, and content, is owned by Yilmaz Education LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your educational work during your subscription or agreement. Your data remains yours; you grant us only the license needed to operate the service for you.
Term & termination
These Terms apply while you use the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these Terms. On termination, data export and deletion are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and applicable agreements.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." It is an educational tool that informs teacher judgment; it is not a medical, psychological, or special-education diagnostic instrument, and it does not by itself satisfy statutory screening requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yilmaz Education LLC's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts serving Waukesha County, Wisconsin, unless your district agreement provides otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms; the date at the top reflects the latest version. For material changes we will give account holders advance notice by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
